Alan J. Card, PhD, MPH is a co-founder of ReCODE Health and serves as the center’s Director of Risk Management and Safety Science. He holds an appointment as an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine, and serves as Director of the UCSD Networked Improvement Community for Excellence in Wellbeing (NICE Wellbeing).
His research tackles questions related to quality, safety, risk, and wellbeing in healthcare, with a particular focus on improving how healthcare organizations improve. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge in England, an MPH from the University of South Florida, and professional certifications in healthcare quality (CPHQ) and healthcare risk management (CPHRM).
