I was born and raised in San Diego, California. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in psychology at San Diego State University in 2012 and my masters degrees in public health at Grand Canyon University in 2016. I joined UCSD in 2011 working on federally funded research projects related to physical activity, sedentary behavior, and chronic disease prevention. I have several years of experience working in underserved populations in the community setting, training older adults to lead and sustain peer-led physical activity programs in senior and community centers, health coaching in behavior change research and managing projects. I enjoy working out, spending time with loved ones, trying new recipes, and meeting new people.
