Research Assistant

My name is Jasmin Ashby, and I am a second year Master of Public Health graduate student with a concentration on epidemiology. I’m very passionate about the intersection of public mental health and emerging digital technologies. I graduated from UC San Diego with a Bachelor in Sociology of Science and Medicine. For my undergraduate thesis, I investigated how individuals with serious mental illness use social media to engage in online, informal peer support systems. I also worked on a collaborative project analyzing Asian American college students’ subjective experience of mental health at UC San Diego. Outside of research, I currently work with Counseling and Psychological services to promote well-being outreach and resources for UC San Diego students. In my free time, I like to draw portraits and read manga.
