I came to the U.S from an east African country called Ethiopia when I was 13 years of age. I came to the U.S for the main reason being education because it’s something I want to pursue and want to achieve the highest level of it. When I first got accepted to UCSD, I wasn’t sure of what I wanted to do. However once I declared my major as Public Health, I became passionate about the different career paths that you can take. I believe research studies like ReCODE are going to help me gain career experiences and prepare me for the future. Additionally I want to attend graduate school and pursue epidemiology.
